Sharing a recent article highlighting our fire company's new junior firefighter program. A huge thank you to everyone who supported making this change possible and, most importantly, to those who continue to encourage our young people to get involved and give back to their community.

Congratulations to Logan and Andrew on becoming junior firefighters! We’re excited to see all the great things you’ll accomplish and are grateful for your willingness to serve.

A special thank you to Mayor Michael Pasternak, Deputy Mayor Sysol, and Committee Member Benn who helped make this opportunity possible. 🚒❤️

Our community is stronger when we invest in our youth and give them opportunities to serve, learn, and grow.

As you go about your day today, we ask that you remember Harold "Skip" Cranmer, Marcus Cullen, John "Reds" Baker, and Herbert Blackwell. These four Eagleswood Volunteer Fire Company Firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice fighting a wild-land fire in Bass River State Forest on this day in 1977. Their sacrifice has never been and never will be forgotten. We ask that you keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

We will start our annual memorial service honoring our four fallen Firefighters at 6 pm Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the West Creek Cemetery stopping at the Tuckerton Cemetery on our way to the memorial monument at Bass River State Forrest. All are welcome to join us.

🚨 PARADE HEAT SAFETY ALERT 🚨

We will be celebrating tomorrow at Tuckerton's 4th of July parade starting at 10:00 AM. As dangerously hot temperatures continue, please review these safety tips before heading out to watch the parade: 🚒

💧 HYDRATE, DON'T WAIT: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after the parade. Bring extra water bottles in coolers.

🧴 DRESS TO COOL: Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing. Don't forget hats and SPF 30+ sunscreen.

🌳 SEEK SHADE: Avoid direct sun during peak afternoon hours. Find a shady spot along the route, or bring a portable canopy/umbrella.

🐾 PROTECT PAWS: We all love our pets, but asphalt is blisteringly hot right now and in this extreme heat, pets can get heat stroke too. Please keep them safe and leave them at home in the AC. 🐾

⚠️ KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS: Watch for heavy sweating, dizziness, and nausea (heat exhaustion). If someone experiences confusion or loses consciousness, it is a medical emergency. 🚑

Stay cool, look out for your neighbors, and have a safe holiday!
