Today at Dennis Fire Department’s Station 2, we proudly recognized several important milestones during a special swearing-in and pinning ceremony.

Firefighter/EMT Aiden Clark and Firefighter/EMT Spencer Andrews were officially sworn in and welcomed into their new roles, while Samuel Hammond was promoted to EMS Coordinator.

Chief Christopher Guerreiro, joined by Town Clerk Teri Bunce, officiated the ceremony, with family members proudly pinning badges on each honoree—a meaningful tradition that reflects the support and commitment behind every member of our department.

Congratulations to Firefighter/EMT Aiden Clark, Firefighter/EMT Spencer Andrews, and EMS Coordinator Samuel Hammond on these well-earned achievements. We also extend our sincere thanks to their families for sharing in this special day and for their continued support.

Please join us in congratulating them as they continue their service to the Town of Dennis with dedication, professionalism, and pride.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Bill Holden and the Andrea Holden Foundation for their generous $2,000 donation toward the purchase of our new Handtevy pediatric emergency kits. These kits replace the pediatric equipment previously provided through the Foundation’s support, continuing a longstanding commitment to the safety and well-being of the children in our community. As emergency medical care continues to evolve, the Handtevy system represents a significant upgrade, incorporating modern equipment, evidence-based practices, and advanced pediatric treatment techniques that will help our providers deliver the highest level of care. We are deeply grateful for the Andrea Holden Foundation’s ongoing partnership and investment in our ability to care for our youngest patients. Thank you!

Today marked the final day of the Dennis-Yarmouth High School Internship Program at the Dennis Fire Department for Gavin Desley and Riley Caruso.

Throughout their time with us, Gavin and Riley participated in daily training alongside our duty groups, including truck checks and washing, hose evolutions, hydrant operations, and engine pumping.

We would like to thank them for their time, hard work, and dedication to the internship program. It was a pleasure having them around the station, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

Thank you, Gavin and Riley, for being part of the Dennis Fire Department family! 🚒👏

Every May, communities pause to recognize the relentless, compassionate work of those who answer the call when seconds matter. EMS Week 2026 is more than a date on the calendar—it’s a reminder of the vital role firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs play in protecting life at its most fragile moments.

For many in the fire service, EMS is the true heartbeat of the job. The same hands that pull hose lines and force doors are often the ones managing airways, starting IVs, and delivering lifesaving care. Medical calls make up the majority of responses, showing how deeply EMS is woven into modern first response.

For paramedics and EMTs, this week honors the weight they carry every day. They enter homes on people’s worst days, bringing skill, calm, and compassion into chaos. Their work is rarely seen by the public, yet it saves lives quietly, one patient at a time.

EMS Week also recognizes the resilience required to do this job—the long shifts, the emotional toll, and the strength found in teamwork. It’s a time to check in with one another and remember that no one carries the burden alone.

Above all, EMS Week 2026 honors the people behind the uniform—those who show up, every time, ready to help when it matters most.

Dennis Firefighters Local 2583 proudly serve our community every day.
