All traffic lanes are now open, but expect slow travel to continue for the time being and use an alternate route if possible.

Road closure notice:

Due to a spill on the roadway, Rt 31 is closed for southbound traffic south of Boncosy Rd. Northbound traffic in the area of Boncosky Rd is reduced to 1 lane of travel.

Please avoid the area and utilize alternate roadways.

Updates will be provided when available.

West Dundee Police Department reports successful Memorial Day ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign

West Dundee, IL — The West Dundee Police Department today announced the results of its Memorial Day 2026 “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign aimed at increasing seat belt use and keeping roads safe during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

“Thanks to the efforts of our officers, more drivers and passengers were reminded to buckle up, helping to prevent injuries and save lives,” said Commander James Breon. “Every citation and safety check reinforces the message that seat belts work.”

During the campaign, The West Dundee Police Department took the following actions: (10) seat belt citations issued, (1) child car seat citations, (3) DUI arrests, (1) felony arrest, (2) suspended/revoked license actions, (2) uninsured motorist citations, (2) speeding citations.

The campaign’s success reflects law enforcement's commitment to roadway safety and reinforces the message that buckling up saves lives.

The “Click It or Ticket” initiative is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. For more information on safe driving practices, visit ItsNotaGameIllinois.com.
