Skully has been training hard this season to better himself in a career with the FD. From working out to trying to learn how to run the pumps. Although the Chief still won't allow Skully behind the wheel. Skully tried to lift the electric "jaws of life" they are still a little too heavy for him and he needed to take a break. His choice of resting location on Utility-63 is questionable. Don't forget to come see Skully and take pictures with him next Saturday for the annual open house 1-4pm.

We'd like to showcase a new series "Fleet Fridays". Over the next few weeks each Friday we will be highlighting one of the emergency vehicles used here to serve our community. Kicking off week one we have Engine 631, a 2015 KME top mount fire engine. The primary role of an engine is fighting fires with the capabilities to handle basic vehicle accidents and water rescue. E-631 carries 1,000 gallons of water and can pump at full capacity 1,500 gallons of water a minute (GPM). This custom built for seven lakes engine is a 6 person cab and was the first truck to switch to a black on yellow paint scheme. All previous seven lakes vehicles had our iconic yellow with a white secondary color. Check out the photos for further details about the equipment carried and follow along each Friday!

Skully is getting pumped up for Halloween 🎃 and the upcoming Open House Next Saturday October 31st here at the station 1-4pm. He is working on building that chest muscle with some bench pressing. He said he wants to look his best to see everyone and get his picture professionally taken (apparently we don't give him good lighting or get his best side) check out our event listing for the Open House and follow along to see what else Skully gets into.

While the rain brought us some relief from the heat it did bring a dreary day. The Community Meeting IS still happening TODAY 2PM at the firehouse. Due to weather conditions the planned demo of Tower Ladder 63 will be postponed, hopefully the ladder can be raised at the annual open house. We will still be showing it off inside the bay and discussing its capabilities. We will also be going over what's to come in 2027 and beyond as well as Q&A about fire related topics. Come join us today at 2pm.

This morning we participated in an automatic aid training evaluation with West End Fire and Rescue and Eagle Springs Fire Department at the SBI training facilities located in Eagle Springs. The SBI was conducting their own arson investigation training, we were invited to conduct training with our neighboring departments and take advantage of a few fire drills. These kinds of training help strengthen not only individual skills but also departmental cooperation.
