Alexa's Hope

Alexa's Hope Inspiring Organ Donation, Saving Lives Alexa's Hope was founded by Monica Kersting in honor of her daughter who died awaiting a lung transplant.

The nonprofit is committed to increasing the number of consent donors and removing obstacles that hinder organ donation and transplantation. Creating awareness is the single most important course of action in ending the waiting list and saving lives. Alexa's Hope organ and tissue donation awarness includes the following:
-Provide accurate, up-to-date information through education
~Document th

e need via statistics- the shortage vs. the tremendous need
~Provide explanation as to why there is a shortage
~Dispel popular myths that discourage donation
~Explain how to become a donor
-Share Alexa's story- "Alexa: The Face of Those Who Are Waiting"
~The need is very real- because of a lack of donors, people are dying while awaiting on the list
-Share the message through art
-Provide comprehensive information and resources on our website (http://www.alexashope.org) to aid families in navigating the system and the many decisions they need to make their loved one who is awaiting a transplant.

The official count in our Guinness World Record attempt is 489 donor registrations. While we didn't set a new record, we are proud of the community response and the impact these donors will make.
