The West Fargo City Commission approved the following adjusted meeting schedule for the month of September 2026:

• Tuesday, Sept. 8 - Regular City Commission Meeting. Public Hearing on the 2027 Preliminary Budget will be held.
• Monday, Sept. 21 - Regular City Commission Meeting. Certification of Special Assessment Districts 1345, 1353, and 2290 will be held.

There will be no City Commission Meeting held on Monday, Sept. 7

All meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at West Fargo City Hall, 2515 6th Street E, West Fargo, ND 58078.

Meeting agendas and materials, and live streams can be found in the Agenda Center at westfargond.gov. Residents can sign up for notifications of agenda publication at https://westfargond.portal.civicclerk.com/subscriptions

During drought conditions, trees need thorough, consistent watering to stay healthy.

🌱 Focus water around the root zone, rather than just at the trunk
🌅 Water in the morning or evening when possible
🍂 Apply a 2–4 inch layer of mulch to help retain moisture and protect roots

The City of West Fargo will close Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day. Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed one day all week, and the City Commission meeting will be held Tuesday, September 8 at 5:30 p.m.

All buildings will be closed to the public, including City Hall, Public Library, Sanitation, Public Works and the Transfer Station. Public safety agencies will be in full operation, but the West Fargo Police and Fire Department buildings will close to the public.

You’ve probably seen this piece of equipment out on the roads this summer!

A DuraPatcher is used to repair potholes and other pavement damage. It uses a spray injection system to apply material, fill the damaged area, and seal the repair in one streamlined process.

DuraPatchers are one of the tools our Public Works crews use as part of ongoing pavement maintenance throughout the City.

🚧SPECIAL EVENT ALERT:

5th Street W, from south of the parking ramp entrance to north of 32nd Avenue W, will close to through traffic from 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 for the Buckaroo Festival. Traffic will detour using 32nd Avenue W and Sheyenne Street and be able to access parking locations through the posted detour routes.

Motorists in these areas may encounter congestion and delays during the event and should adjust their travel plans accordingly. Always use the 'S' check when traveling in and around event areas - check your speed, space and stress. Motorists are reminded to put down the distractions and yield to the increase in pedestrian traffic.

The Street and Event Closing Permit is requested through the City of West Fargo's website. The application must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event.

🚧 ALERT:

Public Works will be jetting and televising the sewer line on 9th Street East beginning Monday, August 24, blocking a portion of the intersection at 9th Street E and 10th Avenue E. Southbound traffic on 9th Street E will detour to 10th Avenue E. Eastbound traffic on 10th Avenue E will detour south to Meyer Boulevard.

There will be no left turn onto 10th Avenue E from northbound 9th Street E. and no left turn onto 9th Street E from westbound 10th Avenue E. Work is expected to be completed Wednesday, August 26, pending weather conditions.

Motorists may encounter delays during commute times and should adjust their travel plans. Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed, space and stress.
