📍 PROPOSED WEST FORK ANNEXATION — NOVEMBER 2026

This November, voters will consider a proposed annexation that would expand the City of West Fork's boundaries north of the existing city limits and along the I-49 corridor.
Both qualified voters within the City of West Fork and qualified voters residing within the proposed annexation area will have the opportunity to vote on the proposal.

🗺️ What area is being considered?
The proposed annexation includes approximately 2.5 miles of I-49 and two existing interstate overpasses, along with surrounding areas north of the current city limits.
West Fork's existing geography—including mountains, the West Fork of the White River, floodplain areas and the railroad—limits the amount of land available for certain types of future development within and immediately surrounding the city.

🛣️ Why does the I-49 corridor matter?
The I-49 corridor has interstate access, traffic, visibility and existing overpasses. If annexation is approved, the area included in the proposal would become part of West Fork, giving the City a role in planning for future land use, development, infrastructure, access and services within that area.
Annexation itself does not determine what specific development will occur. It would change the municipal boundaries and which local government has authority over certain planning and development decisions within the annexed area.

🏡 What would annexation mean for residents of the proposed area?
If approved, residents within the annexation area would become residents of the City of West Fork and would have representation in West Fork city government.
They would also be able to participate in local decisions involving matters such as development, infrastructure and city services.

đź“‹ What issues are part of the planning discussion?
Long-term planning for the proposed area may include:
• Future land use and development
• Roads and transportation
• Water and wastewater infrastructure
• Public safety and emergency services
• Commercial development
• Long-term infrastructure needs
• Residential areas and community character

🗳️ The Decision Belongs to Voters
The proposed annexation will be presented to voters in the November 2026 election.
Residents are encouraged to learn about the proposal, review the maps and boundaries, and understand how annexation could affect both West Fork and the proposed annexation area before casting their vote.

We need your help Facebook.

This individual is reported to have defrauded one of our elderly citizens a few weeks ago, claiming to have mistakenly treated his lawn. He then returned today to steal more from him.

This individual made the mistake of shopping locally and Harps was able to catch him making a purchase; not with his own money, of course.

If you have any information, please contact us.
