Bridge Family Center EVERY FAMILY. EVERY CHILD. EVERY TIME. The Bridge was founded in 1969 to meet the needs of West Hartford community youth who were engaged in high-risk behavior.

Over the next few years, the Bridge expanded its outreach efforts, opened a shelter for runaway and homeless youth, and began to work directly with the schools. Today the Bridge is a comprehensive, regional nonprofit agency offering a broad range of services to children, youth, and families in the Greater Hartford area, with particular attention to serving those at risk. The mission of the Bridge Family Center is to foster the courage and strength in children and families to meet life's challenges and build fulfilling lives.

Calling all parents, caregivers, grandparents, and community members!

The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) of West Hartford is now recruiting!

This FREE 20-week program empowers community members with the leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement skills needed to make a positive impact on children, families, and our community.

Participants will receive free classes, meals, childcare for ages 4+, and the opportunity to connect with other community leaders!

Looking for a seasonal job or preparing to enter the workforce?

The Bridge Family Center's Work Ready: Job Skills Workshop is designed to help West Hartford teens and young adults ages 16–24 develop the skills and confidence needed to find and succeed in a job!

Participants will practice résumé writing, interviewing, workplace communication, with hands-on support completing job applications.

When: October 27 and November 3, 10 & 17 | 4:30–5:30 PM
Where: Faxon Library, Teen Area, West Hartford

The West Hartford Teen Center is heading to Trail of Terror in Wallingford for a FREE night of Halloween scares and thrills!

🎃 **Friday, October 16**
🚌 **Pick-up:** 6:30 PM
🏠 **Drop-off:** Approximately 10:30 PM
📍 **Pick-up/Drop-off:** Elmwood Community Center, 1106 New Britain Ave., West Hartford

This FREE event is open to West Hartford youth in **grades 7–12**, with round-trip transportation provided.

🎟️ **All 17 spots have been filled, but our waitlist is now open!**

🎷 LOCATION UPDATE: WeHa United in Jazz has MOVED INDOORS!

Join us today from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium, 50 South Main Street, for an afternoon of live music, community, and connection.

The Conard High School Jazz Combo will perform at 2:30 p.m., followed by this year’s headliner, Gerald Veasley, for a 90-minute performance alongside guest musicians.

WeHa United in Jazz is proudly sponsored by The Bridge Family Center, the West Hartford Police Department, and the West Hartford African American Social & Cultural Organization.

The event is free and open to the public.

📍 West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium
🕑 2:00–5:00 p.m.
🚗 Parking is available in the Town Hall municipal lot; fees apply.
