We are also glad to help with all of your performing arts research needs. This is the Official page for the Allen Library at the University of Hartford. The Mildred P. Allen Memorial Library provides reference, circulating, and online materials in the fields of music, dance, and related performing arts programs. The Allen Library was originally founded as the Hartt Library in 1938. In 201

7, the Allen Library was moved into a new 6,475-square-foot space on the lower level of the Harrison Libraries building. In this location, the Allen Library is a “library within a library,” with its own entrance and where it maintains a distinct identity. It continues to serve as a learning hub and intellectual center for The Hartt School, and its services, collections, and facilities remain open to the entire University community. There are five full-time staff members and a team of student workers at the Allen Library, working diligently to provide our users with high-quality resources and services.

CLOSING ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Harrison Libraries (including the Allen Library) will be closing early today (Wednesday, May 20), at 4 PM, due to unexpected maintenance issues. We will remain closed through Monday, May 25. Allen expects so far to reopen at 9 AM on Tuesday, May 26, for our regular summer hours.

For the remainder of this week, our hours are 9 AM to 4:30 PM. Beginning next week, we will be open from 9 AM to 6 PM Mondays through Thursdays, and 9 AM to TBA on Fridays.
We will be closed on weekends until classes begin at the end of August.

The snow is melting, and it's time for spring break!

We will be closed this Sunday, 3/15, and open from 9 AM to 4:30 PM from Monday, 3/16, through Friday, 3/20. We will return to normal semester hours starting on Sunday, 3/22.
