Meet Dai'Or........she is the little girl who was involved in a devastating bicycle accident in our town on June 3rd.

She is pictured below at West Homestead Community Day with the West Homestead Police Department......Chief Dan Kinzel, Officer Craig Martin and Officer Jared Ruffing.

Officer Martin and Ruffing were the two officers on scene immediately after the accident, to help aid Dai'Or and her family, followed by Fire Chief John Dindak, Baldwin Emergency Medical Service and West Homestead VFD.

This accident hit close to home for our first responders, as a lot of them have young kids and grandkids. Both Chief Kinzel and Chief Dindak stayed in constant contact with her mother during this ordeal. Our first responders have decided to come together to help support the family. Since Dai'Or missed her birthday while she was in the hospital, the first responders are celebrating her birthday this upcoming weekend!

During Dai'Or's hospital stay, her mom had to take time off work. her mom had to take time off work. Dai'Or had four surgeries and she suffered nroken ribs , feeding tubes , a tracheostomy & skin grafts and more. While Dai'Or is recovering and starting kindergarten this year, her family is facing medical bills which will continue to increase as she heals.
