Storytime returns this week! Miss Kathleen and Miss Cassie have lots of stories and activities to share with the kiddos! Storytimes are every Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 AM in the Community Room.

Pictured below are 6 dresses available for those who need one for Homecoming 2026. If you have any dresses you no longer need and want to donate, please make sure they are clean before giving them to a Staff Member at the Information Desk. You may try on dresses in the restrooms.

More Tonies have arrived at the Library! You can check out Tonies with a Library card (up to three at a time) or use them in the library with the Library's Toniebox! The Tonies are located on the picture book shelves in the Children's Area.

The Friends of the Library invite you to an evening of music at the WJ Community Center this Thursday evening at 7 PM with local folk/country singer Calvin Kinateder! This event is free to attend, with snacks available for donation.

MadCo Mahj will be at the Library on Saturday, September 12th at 11 AM to introduce us to the world of mahjong! With so many people asking about it, this is a great way to learn more about the game and see if it is something you would like to invest your time playing.

They will go over the origins and equipment and demonstrate a 2-person game to give you an idea of how it works. They are also giving out discount coupons to participants for their Mahjong 101 class! One lucky person will win a free class!

All ages curious about Mahjong are welcome to attend; registration is not required. If you have any questions, please call the Information Desk at 614-879-8448.

**UPDATE! The Library will close early at 5 PM on Monday, August 10th through Thursday, August 13th. We will update more if needed due to weather delays.**

The parking lot is currently open today (August 11th), as the storms have delayed the work.

The Library will close early on Monday, August 10th, at 5 PM due to the parking lot resurfacing. Access to the building on Monday may be difficult, if at all. If you are planning to visit, you may call ahead to ask about current conditions. Thank you for your understanding.

The Friends of the Library are hosting a Friends Folk Night at the West Jefferson Community Center on Thursday, August 20th at 7 PM, featuring local folk/country singer Calvin Kinateder! Snacks will be available for donation during the event. Bring your friends and family for a wonderful night of music!

The HBMLibrary 2026 Summer Reading Program is almost over! If you have your reading logs and/or reads-ons finished, be sure to turn them into the Library by 4:45PM on Friday, July 31st to get your completion prize and enter your tickets into the Grand Prize drawings! The Grand Prize drawings will take place next week, and the winners will be notified by phone call.

Thank you to the 600+ people who have spent their summer with us and have completed the summer reading program!

The final Summer Reading Friday Program is located at the WJ Community Center this Friday, the 24th, at 10:30 AM! After the program, Erica will make balloon animals for the kids. There will also be face-painting!
