Calling all Caboose Kids! Join us at Connie the Caboose in the West Jefferson Backstreet Park Saturday, August 6, 10 a.m., when Carol Griffith, Farmers Market Manager, introduces us to a local farmer who will talk about seeds, growing vegetables, and more. Caboose Kids is back in the West Jefferson Backstreet Park Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m., when representatives from the Western Youth Network will be on site to share paint-pouring activities to show how different things can be seen by each other in their paint projects. Caboose Kids is geared towards children ages 3 – 10 and their siblings. The event will be cancelled in case of rain. Call Imagination Ashe at 336-977-9111 for more information.

Meet the library’s ARLy the Fox Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m., at the West Jefferson Backstreet Park’s Connie the Caboose! The Ashe County Public Library is sponsoring ARLy and will help him tell the story of gray foxes, and will then encourage everyone to read, sing, and even dance with him. Children ages 3-10 and their siblings will enjoy meeting ARLy. This event is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the event will be cancelled; announcements will be made by WKSK a little before 9 a.m.
