The City of West Lafayette is continuing its work to plan for the future of early childhood education.

We are hosting Community Engagement Sessions to gather public input on the programming priorities for an Early Childhood Education Center.
-----

📍 West Lafayette City Hall – 222 N. Chauncey Avenue

📅 June 17 | 6–8 p.m.

📅 September 2 | 6–8 p.m.
-----

A site is being explored in the northern area of the city due to the region having the highest number of children ages 0 to 5 and an unmet need for childcare services at the time of the study. These sessions will help us better understand community needs as we continue evaluating whether the site is suitable.

Topics will include design concepts, site considerations, outdoor space, environmental priorities, and programming needs.

These sessions are focused on programming and community needs and are part of the process to evaluate site suitability, not a final decision on location or building design.

Clerk Sana Booker was pleased to join Greater Lafayette Commerce and community members in celebrating the relocation of Turning Pointe Academy, now located at 3324 Klondike Road in West Lafayette.

Turning Pointe Academy offers dance, pom, and fitness programming with a strong family-focused approach. Owners Heather and Millie bring years of dance experience and a genuine passion for teaching. The academy welcomes students of all ages and abilities and offers a diverse curriculum so each dancer can find the right fit while growing as both an artist and a future leader in a supportive, family-oriented environment.

Turning Pointe Academy is also passionate about serving students with special needs and working with the Spanish-speaking population, helping to make programs more accessible and welcoming to families in the community.

Community outreach is a core part of Turning Pointe’s mission, with students frequently performing at local schools, colleges, nursing homes, and community centers, and supporting causes such as Riley Children’s Hospital. This high level of engagement reflects the academy’s belief that “it’s more than dance” and underscores their commitment to giving back to the Greater Lafayette community.

We’re so grateful for businesses like Turning Pointe Academy that continue to invest in our community and contribute to the City’s growth and quality of life.

Thank you for your patience as we continue the Curbside Reset.

Our drivers are learning new routes, and we appreciate your understanding during this transition.

-----
A few quick reminders:

-All trash, recycling, and yard waste are now collected on the same day.

-Have everything to the curb by 7 a.m. because collection times can change week to week due to route adjustments and driver availability.

-If your trash was missed, a dumpster is available at the Street and Sanitation Building for residents receiving service (please limit to one toter’s worth per household). Also, only place accepted items in the dumpster- no tires, construction materials, grass clippings, or other prohibited items.

-Do not place yard waste in your trash toter. Doing so may result in your entire toter not being collected.

The Curbside Reset starts tomorrow.

Please put your toters out by 7 a.m. Your pick-up day may be the same, but your pick-up time has probably changed.

The Curbside Reset starts Monday- are you ready?

Double-check the map to confirm your new collection day. Even if your pickup day remains the same, pickup times will be flexible each week. Set all toters out by 7 a.m. Trucks will not return for missed toters.

A new routine takes time to learn, and we appreciate your patience during the transition. During June, if you miss your pickup day, you have options:

• Drop off trash to the dumpster at the Street and Sanitation Department (No recycling or yard waste.)

• If timing allows, move your toters to the opposite side of the street before that collection truck passes

Thanks for helping make the transition smooth for everyone!
