Update. 3:49pm Sunday
New transformer is installed and EKP is turning circuits back on as we speak. This is a vital part and must be done properly. Please allow a few extra minutes for all power to be restored.

Outage update 2:50

The second transformer is now on the pad. It will take approx 90 min to hookup and energize. We are hopeful that takes care of the issue.

We will update after this takes place if the issues continue.

Outage update 12:50:

East Kentucky Power had the new transformer installed at 11:30 am. Unfortunately, when the breakers were thrown back in, they blew again. They are currently investigating other areas in the substation for potential damage. Another transformer is also being delivered.

We have requested an updated restoration time but at this point, they are unable to provide that. If we receive additional updates, we will pass those along.

We apologize for the moving target and we know it’s hot and our members in Wolfe County are suffering. We will continue monitoring the progress and we assure you they are working as hard as they can to get the problem fixed.

Update-6:40am Sunday morning.

East Kentucky Power has unfortunately had a transformer in a substation at Campton go out. EKP crews are at the substation working on the repairs. You may temporarily get power as our crews scramble to initiate some load transferring. When the substation is repaired, power could momentarily be interrupted while the breakers are thrown back in. Please be patient as these types of repairs are extremely dangerous.
