Morgan County Soil Conservation District

Morgan County Soil Conservation District Our objective is to provide the technical and financial support producers need to protect the land, air and water while maximizing production.

The Morgan County Conservation District was formed in 1945 by a group of dedicated citizens who realized the need to protect our natural resources. These citizens wanted our county resources to be properly managed for economic and social benefits for the citizens of Morgan County and those who visit Morgan County. The purpose of Conservation Districts is to conserve and develop all renewable natur

al resources within the district. In so doing, the district is authorized to undertake, sponsor, or participate in projects, activities, and programs which promote the conservation, development, maintenance, management, and wise use of land, water, trees and other related natural resources of the district. Kentucky’s Conservation Districts are a subdivision of state government and have been organized for the special purpose to assist land owners and land users in solving soil and water resource problems, setting priorities for conservation work to be accomplished, coordinating federal, state, and local resources needed to accomplish this work, and provide leadership and means on the local level to interested citizens to work together to achieve desired results. The need to wisely use our vital resources never ceases. Soil erosion and flooding can be as destructive today as it was 50 years ago. Because of Conservation Districts, local citizens, and our government, these and other problems can be resolved. All programs and services of Morgan County Conservation District are offered on a non-discriminatory basis without regard to race, s*x, national origin, religious and or familial belief.

There were a few trees left and they will be located free of charge at JA Oldfield & Son farm store in Mize, KY.
