Love Mahjong or curious to learn? Join us for a relaxing and fun Mahjong gathering every Wednesday at the WLB Community Center, Van Brunt Room, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Whether you're a seasoned player or brand new to the game, all are welcome! If you have your own Mahjong set, feel free to bring it along. New to the game? No problem — someone will be happy to help you learn and get started.

Celebrate 250 Years of American Spirit at the Community Picnic, Fun Day & Kite Festival
This summer, we're not just celebrating the season — we're celebrating 250 years of the American spirit that makes communities like ours worth gathering in. Join your neighbors for a good old-fashioned afternoon of food, laughter, live music, and high-flying fun at the Community Picnic, Fun Day, and Kite Festival. Held at the FAS & WLB Community Center, this all-ages celebration brings back the kind of summer day our grandparents lived for — and that our kids will remember for years to come.

Come enjoy the timeless pleasures that have always made American summers special: bounce houses for the little ones, an antique car club showcase that honors our country's storied road heritage, classic lawn games and friendly tournaments, a live DJ spinning American favorites throughout the afternoon, and a model train show paying tribute to the iron rails that built this nation. Grab a bite from one of our food trucks, spread out a blanket, and soak in the company of your community.

Summer Recreation offers a full day of fun activities for your child to experience with children of their own age group. All activities are supervised by their group counselors and each day is broken up into 1 hour and 30 minute segments. To register, click the "Participate Now" tab.

When: June 29th - August 7th
Who: All students entering 1st-5th grade in Sept. 2026
Where: Betty McElmon Elementary
Activities: Arts & crafts, sports, contests, games, on-site amusements, ice-cream truck, end-of-the-year party and more!
Price: $695 for 6-week program and $595 for additional children.

Show Your Patriotic Pride & Celebrate Independence Day!

The West Long Branch 250 Committee invites residents to participate in the WLB Patriotic House Decorating Contest. Showcase your red, white, and blue spirit by decorating your home in celebration of Independence Day and help create a festive atmosphere throughout the community.

Prize Awards
Decorate, celebrate, and compete for local bragging rights and prizes.

Top entries selected by the judging panel will receive:

1st Place: $75 La Scarpetta Gift Card
2nd Place: $50 La Scarpetta Gift Card
3rd Place: $25 La Scarpetta Gift Card
Recognition during the Fourth of July Fireworks celebration (does not need to be present to accept your prize)
Details

Judging Date: July 2, 2026 (during daytime hours)
Awards Presentation Location: Franklin Lake Gazebo (does not need to be present to accept your prize)
Judging will be conducted by the West Long Branch Police Department. Winners will be notified on July 3, 2026, and prizes will be presented during the community’s Fourth of July Fireworks celebration at the Franklin Lake Gazebo. While registration is not required to participate, registering helps ensure your home is included in the judging process.
