The current and past members of the West Memphis Fire Department join the Baker family in mourning the death of Division Chief of Training (Ret.) Doug Baker. His legacy continues to live on in West Memphis as well as Searcy FD and statewide through his support of the Arkansas State Firefighters Association.

Rest in peace, Chief.

The West Memphis Fire Department is now accepting applications, and we’re inviting the public to come out and see what it takes to become a West Memphis firefighter! If you’ve ever thought about becoming a firefighter, now is the time to apply.

Our Firefighter Agility Test will be held Saturday, October 3 at 9:00 AM at Hamilton Schultz Field.

B & D Towing and Recovery always finds a way to help us get auto extrication training in! Many thanks to the crew for finding us a vehicle last minute for an Acting Captain checkoff evolution and to show three Probationary Firefighters some basics of vehicle rescue.

Yesterday was a proud day for the West Memphis Fire Department!
Family, friends, city leaders and members of our community packed the Mayor Joyce Ferguson Civic Center as we recognized and celebrated 16 members of the West Memphis Fire Department who earned promotions.
These promotions represent years of hard work, training, leadership and a commitment to serving and protecting the people of West Memphis.

Congratulations to each of our newly promoted officers. You have earned this opportunity, and we look forward to the leadership you will bring to the next chapter of the West Memphis Fire Department.

💜 Purses for a Purpose 💜
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Purses With A Purpose campaign so far. Every purse, and every handwritten note is helping remind a woman in our community that she is seen, valued, and cared for.

This note that came with one of our donations says it all.

If you’d like to help, there’s still time to participate. Donate a gently used purse filled with essential hygiene items and help us bring hope and encouragement to women who need it most.
