The Fall Brown Bag Concert Series kicks off tomorrow! 🎶

Join us Wednesday, September 2, at noon at The Pavilion at 7th Square, next to the West Monroe Farmer's Market, for live music from Clayton Maza! Bring your lunch or grab a Newk’s lunch special on-site, then settle in for great music and weekly door prizes. Admission is free!

A special launch right here in West Monroe! 🤎🌿🦆

The City of West Monroe was excited to celebrate Korie Robertson and the Robertson family today with a ribbon cutting for the launch of Kinkeeping, Korie’s new home collection created in partnership with Hobby Lobby.

We are so proud to see an idea deeply connected to family, hospitality and the Robertson family’s West Monroe roots now reaching homes across the country. Congratulations to Korie and the entire Robertson family on this exciting new chapter!

Prior to the regularly scheduled meeting, a public update will be held at 5:15 p.m. to discuss upcoming downtown infrastructure improvements and the temporary streetscape demonstration.

In this week’s Mayor’s Message, West Monroe Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell recaps a busy weekend across our community, including the West Monroe Gar Rodeo at Lazarre Park, the North Louisiana Sportsman's Expo at the West Monroe Sports & Events and Bayou Jamb!

Congratulations to Justa Davis, who took home the top prize at the Gar Rodeo with an impressive 142-pound alligator gar, and thank you to all of the sponsors, participants, staff and volunteers who helped make this weekend such a success.

Mayor Mitchell also shares an update on construction along Cotton Street, where crews are currently completing subsurface water, drainage and sewer work in preparation for an upcoming mill and overlay.

The City of West Monroe Public Works Department is hiring two experienced leaders to help oversee the essential services that keep our community running:
- Water Treatment Plant Manager
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager

These positions will oversee daily plant operations, supervise and train employees, maintain regulatory compliance, coordinate equipment maintenance, and respond to operational needs and emergencies.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Louisiana driver’s license. The applicable State of Louisiana operator certifications must be obtained within one year of employment. Previous experience in municipal treatment operations, employee supervision, SCADA systems, and regulatory compliance is preferred.

What a night in Downtown West Monroe! 🤠🎶

A huge thank-you to everyone who joined us last night for our August Ouachita Live concert featuring Chancie Neal! From great music and good company to the excitement of the 2026 West Monroe Gar Rodeo kick off, Alley Park was the place to be!

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out and helped make it such a fun night in downtown West Monroe. Mark your calendars for September 25 for our final Ouachita Live concert of the year. We can’t wait to close out the season with one more great night of live music, community and fun!

Today, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the North Louisiana Sportsman's Expo!🎣🦌🌲

It’s been incredible to see the expo grow in just one year — from 20 vendors last year to more than 100 vendors this year! That kind of growth speaks to the excitement surrounding this event and the incredible outdoor community we have right here in Northeast Louisiana.
