Ms. Dorothy always keeps these tumblers with her, and whenever she sees a police officer, she gives them one featuring a Police Officer's Prayer.
Thank you, Ms. Dorothy, for your kindness, support, and prayers for law enforcement officers. Your thoughtfulness and encouragement mean more than words can express. We are truly grateful for citizens like you who continually lift up our officers and remind them that their service is appreciated.

The West Monroe Police Department plays a vital role in keeping our community safe. From patrol and investigations to community policing and school resource officers, their team works every day to serve and protect the people of West Monroe.

We recently sat down with Chief Jason Pleasant to learn more about the dedicated people and divisions behind the badge, and how they’re working to build a safer NELA for everyone. A special thank you to Bruscato Law for making this segment possible.

This Memorial Day, the men and women of the West Monroe Police Department honor and remember the brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. 🇺🇸

Their courage and selflessness secured the freedoms we enjoy every day. As we gather with family and friends, let us never forget those who gave everything for our country.

Today, we remember the fallen, honor their legacy, and pray for the families they left behind.
We will never forget.

West Monroe Police Department
Click It or Ticket Campaign / Occupant Protection Checkpoint

The national “Click It or Ticket” campaign is currently underway and will continue through June 1st. The West Monroe Police Department reminds all motorists to buckle up properly every trip, every time. Parents and caregivers are also encouraged to ensure children are properly secured in the appropriate child safety seats.

With increased travel expected during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, seat belt use and proper child restraint use are especially important to help prevent serious injury and save lives.

As part of the campaign, the West Monroe Police Department will conduct an Occupant Protection Checkpoint on Wednesday, May 27th, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. within the city limits of West Monroe.

The purpose of the checkpoint is to encourage compliance with Louisiana’s seat belt and child restraint laws and to promote safe travel throughout the community.

The City of West Monroe Fire Department will conduct hydrant flow tests on all fire hydrants located throughout the city limits beginning Monday, May 18 through Thursday, June 11.

Flowing the fire hydrants assists with the flushing process and helps remove corrosion, scale and sediment that build up throughout the year.

Residents should be aware there will be a temporary drop in water pressure during testing, and discolored water sometimes results following flow tests. Both issues should clear up quickly.

If you have any questions, please contact Chief of Fire Prevention Charles Hugghins at (318) 397-0758.

Tonight we celebrated the completion of Citizens Academy Class 39.

We appreciate the investment these citizens made by spending time with our department and our community partners over the past several months.

Since the inception of our Academy, we have proudly graduated more than 800 citizens.

We also had the privilege of honoring Josiah Hayes III, who was a member of our Academy family and passed away a couple of weeks ago. His impact and presence will not be forgotten.

The relationships formed over the last three months will last a lifetime, and we are grateful for each graduate who chose to be part of this experience.
