Big news for Monroe-West Monroe 🎾🏋️

Discover Monroe-West Monroe has been selected to host the LHSAA State Tennis AND Powerlifting Championships in both 2027 and 2028.

Together, these events are expected to bring thousands of athletes, spectators, and families to Ouachita Parish, generating significant economic impact while showcasing our community's outstanding facilities and hospitality.

These championships are made possible through strong partnerships with the West Monroe Sports & Events, West Monroe High School, NELA Community Tennis Association, the University of Louisiana Monroe, and the City of Monroe.

We're excited to welcome Louisiana's top student-athletes and their supporters to Monroe-West Monroe in the years ahead.

The Ouachita Paddling Trails are growing! 🛶🤩

Join us Friday, June 12 from 3–5 PM as we celebrate the launch of Phase 2 and the opening of a brand-new kayak launch at Cheniere Lake Area 3. This exciting addition creates even more opportunities to get out on the water and explore Ouachita Parish from a new perspective.

Come check out kayaks and paddling equipment during a demo day with Ouachita Paddle and Provisions, then stick around for a short guided paddle after 5 PM from the new launch.

And if one day on the water isn’t enough, come back Saturday, June 13 at 9 AM to experience the full brand-new Cheniere Lake Area 3 trail.

We’re excited to continue expanding the Ouachita Paddling Trails and creating new ways for locals and visitors to experience the outdoors!

A new era of football is coming to Monroe 🏈🔥

The Monroe Greenheads are set to kick off their inaugural Arena League season this June at the Monroe Civic Center, bringing a fast-paced style of football built for nonstop action.

Played 7-on-7, the game keeps the energy high with no punts, field goals, or extra-point kicks - just quick drives and constant momentum toward the end zone.

The team’s name, selected through a community campaign with Duck Commander and the Robertson family, is rooted in Louisiana culture and inspired by one of the South’s most iconic birds: the greenhead mallard.

With Terry Bowden leading the team as head coach, excitement is already building for football in Monroe-West Monroe.
