Today is Glioblastoma (GBM) Awareness Day, a day now recognized by Congress to shine a light on the most aggressive and devastating form of brain cancer.
Our beautiful Maureen lived just 20 months with this terrible disease, there was no explanation why and no treatment options available after the first six months of illness. The slides we share today, courtesy of National Brain Tumor Society, illustrate the terminal prognosis. We raise awareness with all patients and caregivers today as there not only remains no cure, but also still no advancements made (in decades) to prolong life.
Not a moment goes by that we don’t think of Maureen’s battle with GBM, or wish this disease had a different ending for those who hear the unimaginable words in their hospital room.
Our Foundation continues to support research, advocacy, and hope. Today every donation made with ours to NBTS will be matched, doubling the impact.
Thank you for helping us keep Maureen’s legacy alive and for standing with everyone affected by glioblastoma. We love you, Maureen and we miss you more than words could ever say.
