We KNOW you’re going to be voting in September and again in November. For the love of Pete, get your census in. Your vote is important.
Have you returned your 2026 census yet?
If you haven't yet returned your annual town census, please take a moment to do so - it's more important than it may seem.
Under state law, residents who do not respond to the census by the end of May must be marked as "inactive" on the voter rolls. This doesn't remove your right to vote, but it does mean additional steps will be required at the polls to restore your active status.
In addition, federal law requires that every inactive voter receive a follow-up mailing that includes a postage-paid return postcard to reactivate their voter status. While these mailings are intended to make the process easier for residents, they also come at a cost to our community - more than $2,300 in 2025.
