IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY NOTICE

Due to recent incidents, we want to remind everyone of the fire safety rules regarding campfires.

*** VOLUNTARY NO BURN, NO FLAME ORDER ****

Please be aware that if any open flame causes a wood fire, you will be held fully responsible for all costs related to fire suppression efforts.

In August alone, campfires have been linked to multiple fire incidents in York County. The local fire department is already stretched thin, dealing with not only these fires but also other wildfires in the area.

Your cooperation is crucial to ensuring the safety of our community and resources. Please refrain from using campfires until further notice.

Thank you for your cooperation.
For any questions, please contact Newfield Fire.

Thank you!
Chief Neville

This is a voluntary order- so if you do decide to have a campfire please make sure it is completely extinguished after use, and is only 3' in diameter and 3' high.

Please do not call to report contained attended campfires

Unfortunately there was a fire off of Garland road, where there was a loss of life. Our heart goes out to the family involved. The fire department wasn’t alerted to this until it was a complete loss. There was no fire when the on duty shift arrived. This is still under investigation at this time nothing else will be released.
