West Newton and all Decatur Township Elementary Schools will have grades K-6 next year. If you ​know a family with a child who will be age 5 by August 1st. please help us spread the word that Kindergarten registration is open too!

It is with great pleasure that I can announce an official Field Day that will take place on May 20th (with May 23rd for a rain day). Grades 4-6 will participate in the morning and Grades 1-3 will participate in the afternoon. Due to the multitude of outdoor activities and games we will be doing on field day, it is important that students wear outdoor/athletic clothing and have a water bottle at hand. Please provide and prepare your students with sunscreen. I would absolutely love to have parent volunteers this year to assist with games and equipment set ups. If this is something that interests you, it is vital that you fill out the volunteer forms at decaturproud.org/families/volunteers. A background check can take up to two weeks so if you are interested; it is better to do it now than later. Join us for our PTO sponsored Scholastic Book Fair and Family Night on Thursday, April 7th from 5pm - 7:30pm. Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream will be in the cafeteria and Kona Ice will be in the parking lot. Don't forget to stop by and purchase a sweet treat!

The PTO meeting scheduled for this evening has been canceled and rescheduled for 6pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. The PTO meeting will be in-person and located in West Newton Elementary School's media center. We look forward to seeing you there!
