We started when William Penn’s son, William, sold Williamstadt to Isaac Norris and William Trent in 1704. In 1730, the court agreed that Williamstadt should be a township and the Township of Norriton was created. Norriton included what is today West Norriton, Norristown, and East Norriton. In 1812, Norriton was divided and the Borough of Norristown was established. On March 9, 1909, the Township o

Community Prayer Vigil

Our community is hurting, and many families are carrying heavy hearts. During difficult times, one of the most important things we can do is come together to support one another with compassion, kindness, and understanding.

All community members are invited to attend a Prayer Vigil on Sunday, June 7 at 6:00 PM at Elmwood Park. This gathering is an opportunity to reflect, pray, offer support, and stand united as neighbors.

As a community, we also want to show our support for the students, families, teachers, staff, and administrators of the Norristown Area School District. The challenges of recent days have affected many throughout our region, and it is important that we remind one another that no one has to face difficult times alone.

This is not about politics or differences—it is about supporting our neighbors, caring for our children, uplifting our schools, and being there for one another when it matters most.

Please join us as we come together in hope, healing, and support for all those affected.

❤️ Our community. Our neighbors. Our schools. Together.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation in the United States Armed Forces. Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, let us also take a moment to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day and pay tribute to the heroes who never came home.

On behalf of West Norriton Township, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who have served and especially to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
