Recognizing Excellence: 26 Commendation Awards

Earlier this year, on January 19th, 2026, a massive 100-plus-car pileup on I-196 in Zeeland Township put our team to the test, and they showed up in a big way.

We are proud to present the Sheriff's Commendation Award to 26 outstanding individuals from our deputies, emergency team, and detective bureau.

Confronted with extreme weather, dangerous conditions, and national-level attention, their composure, teamwork, and leadership never wavered.

Congratulations to all 26 recipients on this well-deserved recognition. You represent the very best of what this office stands for. 💙
