A few lingering showers and thunderstorms today will give way to a less humid cooler airmass over the next couple of days. Warmer temperatures and higher humidity returns mid week ahead of another system set to spread showers and thunderstorms back through the region Wednesday night through Thursday night. Strong to severe storms and heavy rainfall are possible with this system.

Additional rounds of showers and storms will pass through the Quad State area tonight. Heavy rainfall will be possible with any thunderstorms with a risk of flash flooding where training occurs. A few strong storms may still develop; however, it appears to be more isolated threat overall.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall may pose a flash flooding risk across parts of our area through tonight. Most areas stand a good chance at receiving at least 1/2 inch, but some areas may receive over 2" in a short period of time which may lead to flooding issues.

Thunderstorms have shifted south across the southern portions of our region and should be south of our entire area by 8 AM or so. Most of these will just be producing torrential rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty winds, but can't rule out one intensifying to produce 60 mph winds.
