If you care about our environment and way of life, then it’s time to get involved in an important issue. I cannot emphasize enough how each and every one of you can make a difference in this upcoming vote.
This Wednesday, August 31, the County Commission will vote on a proposal which will directly impact all those who live in Palm Beach county, particularly in and nearby the Agricultural Reserve.
The Ag Reserve was created by the voters over 20 years ago to preserve our land and to ensure that Palm Beach County always had a base in its agricultural roots. The Ag Reserve also, importantly, carved out space for Florida’s animals and wildlife - wildlife that has been encroached by big developments over the years. Since the Ag Resrve was created, it has been steadily eaten away, parcel by parcel, to give space for additional housing development. This has destroyed many keys parts and the original intent of the Agricultural Reserve, not to mention destroy countless wildlife. This vote on Wednesday will determine the future of our Ag Reserve and our commitment to those who voted to keep our land preserved for our children and grandchildren.
If you care about traffic, about infrastructure, and about our Florida environment, then please email your County Commissioners to tell them to vote NO on the land swap.

We lost a giant tonight. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Justice Ginsberg, you were such a tremendous inspiration to me as a woman lawyer who dealt with significant pushback when I started out my career in the 1970s. Law firms would close their doors to female JDs "unless your typing was good". She was my icon.

The impact that she carved out for women, and for everyone who was "the other", whether it was a man taking care of his mother who was denied his civil rights, or anyone who has suffered lack of access, of education, of career opportunities because of their gender, race, or religion - she was our voice. Her passing does not silence her message. For now, we mourn the death of a giant, but we celebrate her work and the work of so many others that will continue until true equality is achieved.

Today is a day to remember.
Today is a day to come together as Americans.
Today is a day to honor those First Responders who rushed into a burning inferno to save lives.
Today is a a day to be proud to be an American.

I’m proud to be an American.
May we never forget. 🇺🇸

When I arrived for my usual visit with Grandpa Sam, I was surprised to see how animated he was. I asked him if his favorite soccer team had won that afternoon. He explained that his excitement came from a volunteer with Jewish Family Services who had delivered his kosher meals and how wonderful it was to have someone visit him. Grandpa Sam is a Holocaust Survivor and 100 years young. If a simple visit from a volunteer gave him so much joy. maybe I could "spread some joy to others as well."

Now, I am a regular volunteer, delivering kosher meals to our most precious seniors, and "spreading some joy!"
