During the July 29 Special Meeting for School Board Proclamations, the Board honored the life and legacy of Mr. Samuel Bruce McDonald, who recently passed away.

Mr. McDonald was a key part of the School District of Palm Beach County for 32 years, serving as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and South Area Superintendent. He made history in 1968 as the first Black principal of a nearly all-white school, Boca Raton Junior High. He later became one of the first Black administrators in the School District, blazing a trail for those who followed.
