General A.A. Vandegrift Detachment

General A.A. Vandegrift Detachment Marine Corps League of Palm Beach County meets the 2nd Monday of the Month @1930 (7:30PM) at the Elk’s Lodge #1352 - 6188 Belvedere Rd. - WPB, FL 33416

Since its charter on 11-Nov-1973 The General A.A. Vandegrift Detachment 068 has supported our Marines, FMF Corpsmen, local Veterans, their families and Youth through various programs and fund-raising events. We are active in the community; involved in such events as Holiday/Veterans Parades; providing Color Guard/Honor Guard for our fallen Veterans, as well as assistance to our Veterans and their

families during their time of need. Our members visit our Veterans at the local VA Extended Care Unit on a weekly basis and provide other assistance thru ice cream socials and meals at least once a month as supported by the VA Staff. We work in conjunction with the local Marine Corps Recruiters and 4th ANGLICO, the local Marine Corps Reserve Unit to provide care packages as well as support in other forms for our Marines, FMF Corpsmen and Veterans who have served or are currently serving in areas of conflict around the globe.

We are raising money today for the Marine Corps League. Come by the Publix on Forest Hill and Jog and show your support....

Hello everyone, this is Karen Moreno. I just wanted to thank you all for your support and prayers. The kids and I are doing ok, well as well as can be expected. We miss Manny very much but we are doing our best to keep going. I thank you all for giving us time and the space to begin our healing process. We will be around as long as the kids can handle it. The arrangements for John's wake are as follows. The wake will be from 1 to 6pm at Palms West Funeral Home tomorrow, Friday Dec. 11th. Please if you can come out and support his family. His family will be laying him to rest up north.

Friends it is with a heavy heart that I bring the sad news of the passing of our dear friend and member John Giuliano. He is a great man and wonderful member. He would volunteer for many of our events and usually bring lots of friends. I know I will greatly miss his warm, kind smile and hugs. John will be missed very much. As soon as we get word of the arrangements I will get them to you all.
