A long overdue post, but we wanted to wish our wonderful PBC 4-H agent Noelle, all the best after serving the program for almost 11 years. Noelle has played an important role as one of our county agents and there’s no doubt that she’s made a lasting impact on thousands of youth across the county. We are grateful for the work she’s done to build community partnerships, recruit volunteers, and support youth throughout their time in 4-H. We will miss her dearly but know she will continue to do great things. Your unwavering dedication, commitment, and support do not go unnoticed. Thank you for sharing your experiences, being a leader, and shaping this program into what it is today 🍀❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of devoted Palm Beach County 4-H volunteer and Florida 4-H Hall of Fame member Helen Adler. Helen began her journey as a 4-H’er at the age of 10 and became a 4-H leader after she graduated high school. Upon moving to Florida, she became a Palm Beach County 4-H volunteer and faithfully served families and communities, specifically leading the Helpful Hearts club, for 61 years until her retirement in 2022.

On behalf of the 4-H team, we look back fondly at our memories with Helen. She was genuine, intentional, had a great sense of humor, and believed in the future of young people.

🍀 In Memory of Helen Frances Adler 🍀

Helen and her twin sister Rose joined 4-H in New York when they were 10 years old. Helen became a 4-H leader after graduating high school and after moving to Florida she started a 4-H club in 1961 with the neighborhood children. All of her own children and grandchildren were in her club.

In 2002, Helen was inducted into the Florida 4-H Hall of Fame in the inaugural class of inductees. She continued her club, the Helpful Hearts, until 2022. She recognized the power of 4-H to shape a youth's future, sharing as part of her Hall of Fame induction, "In this program we are teaching life skills. Our kids get a chance to explore. They find their interests and their skills. Many of them end up going into careers from things they started while in 4-H.”

During her 61 years of service, Helen taught thousands of children how to sew, cook, garden, woodworking, flower arranging and many more life skills. For many, she was their surrogate mom.

Even after “retiring” as a 4-H volunteer in 2022 she would make it a point to grab lunch with the 4-H staff annually. “She cared about us as humans, instead of just 4-H professionals,” shared 4-H agent Daniel Gonzalez.

Services will be held this Thursday and Friday: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/west-palm-beach-fl/helen-adler-12816030

🍀 Her family requests if you would like to show your support of Helen’s love and involvement in 4-H, please wear green to her services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Palm Beach County 4-H Association, 559 N Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415 or online at ufgive.to/PalmBeach4H.

Our 2026 spring fishing camp is officially in the books! Thank you to IGFA for putting this camp on, along with generous donor Nick Smith, to offer youth in Palm Beach County the opportunity to learn the basics of fishing, gain valuable life skills, and have fun. Over the last few days, campers toured Michael Rybovich & Sons Custom Boat Works to learn about trade work and see how they build boats; listened to a few guest speakers talk about their experiences in the fishing industry; and spent time on the water catching fish. Until next time!

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and is helping us kick off 2026? Our Homeschooling Mod Squad club is leveling up! After spending the last few months mastering essential cooking techniques, these talented young chefs have officially moved on to the "icing on the cake"—literally. For their very first cake decorating project, they tackled everyone's favorite Krusty Krab employee, and we think the results are absolutely "nautical!" How adorable did this SpongeBob turn out? We can't wait to see what these bakers whip up next. 🍀

So proud of our Acreage Pines Elementary Chicken Clucking Club! They did amazing during the poultry showmanship competition at the South Florida Fair! 🍀🐔💚 Our youth represented Acreage Pines Elementary School and with confidence, responsibility, and sportsmanship. They worked incredibly hard and did an amazing job in the ring. We couldn’t be prouder of their effort and dedication. A huge thank you to Mrs. Garrett, Mrs. O’Gorman, Principal Winewski, and all of the parent volunteers who helped make this experience possible. It truly takes a village, and Friday was a wonderful example of teamwork and community support!
