📚❤️ And we’re back!

What a great way to kick off the new school year! Superintendent Burke and his team spread out across the District today, and I got to visit three very special schools.

🌟 Westgate Elementary — celebrating an incredible jump from a C to an A!

🦅 Forest Hill High School — starting the year as an A-rated school! Go Falcons!

💙 Melaleuca Elementary — where I wrapped up my school visits for the day.

From kindergarten classrooms to high school hallways, there was lots of first-day energy everywhere! ❤️

Here’s to our students, teachers, staff and families. Let’s make 2026–27 a GREAT year! 🎒✏️📚

🎒✏️ Back-to-school preparation is everywhere! 📚❤️

This past week, schools across our District welcomed families for Meet the Teacher events, backpack and school supply pickups, and lots of excitement for the new school year!

I was happy to make it to two of my elementary schools, Liberty Park and Palm Springs, and see the excitement firsthand. ❤️

It was also wonderful to see community partners at both schools, connecting with parents and providing resources to help our families start the year strong. That partnership makes a difference!

Backpacks are packed, classrooms are ready, and our students are off to a great start! 🌟 We are stronger when we work together. Here’s to a fantastic school year! 🍎📚

A great morning with the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches for its State of Education breakfast!

Superintendent Mike Burke gave a great presentation highlighting the progress, opportunities, and work ahead for our schools.

One of my favorite parts was hearing directly from three of our students as Superintendent Burke interviewed them about their experiences, goals, and perspectives.

Education is about preparing our students for what comes next, college, careers, and a bright future.

Thank you to the Chamber for bringing education and our business community together. We are stronger when we work together! 💙📚

What a way to kick off the new school year! 🎒📚

The Back to School Bash at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, organized by the Palm Beach County Office of Community Revitalization, once again brought thousands of families together for school supplies, resources, health services, activities, food, music and plenty of fun.

This year, I had helped again as a floater, which gave me the opportunity to move throughout the event, talk with families, answer questions and connect parents with the resources they needed. I especially enjoyed helping our Spanish-speaking families navigate all the services available.

I was also so happy to see important The School District of Palm Beach County resources there connecting directly with families, including Multicultural Education, the Welcome Center, Adult Education, the Wellness Department, School Food Service, Head Start, and the historic Roosevelt Technical Education Center.

A very special thank you to Houston Tate, Ruth Moguillansky, Crystal Matthews, and the entire team at the Palm Beach County Office of Community Revitalization, along with all the County departments, community partners and volunteers who worked together to make this event possible.

Back to school takes all of us, and we are stronger when we work together!

So grateful for our School Police team and the incredible work they do every day, often behind the scenes, to keep our students, staff, and schools safe. 💙

It was wonderful to celebrate and recognize so many members of the team for going above and beyond, including awards for lifesaving efforts, exceptional service, meritorious service, crisis response, and outstanding teamwork.

Their commitment goes far beyond responding to emergencies. They build relationships with students, support our schools, and step up when our community needs them most.

Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees, and thank you to our entire School Police Department for everything you do for our schools and families. 👏💙

A big thank you to the City of Greenacres, Florida - Government for once again bringing together the principals from Greenacres schools and the surrounding schools that serve the city’s students.

It was great to join Mayor Chuck Shaw, Greenacres Councilwoman Susy Díaz, City Manager Andrea McCue, Village of Palm Springs Mayor Bev Smith, and several of my District 2 principals for this meaningful gathering.

I truly appreciate the City’s commitment to strengthening education by keeping school leaders and local governments connected.

When we work together, we build stronger schools, stronger communities, and more opportunities for every student.

🚌🎒 Help us Stuff the Bus today! Join us until 6:00 p.m. at Office Depot, 2627 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, and help local students start the school year ready to learn.

A huge thank you to the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County our amazing volunteers, Office Depot, and CBS 12 News for making this event possible.

Thank you to Hispanos Unidos for organizing this informative event in partnership with the Greenacres Library and bringing together several Palm Beach County School District departments to provide important back-to-school information to our Spanish-speaking families.

Special thanks to Dr. Patricia Ordóñez-Feliciano, Executive Director, along with Christian Gárate, Katty Chois, and Sonia Birch, for leading the presentation and making sure parents received valuable information in their own language.

I also want to recognize Julie Acevedo, Manager of the Welcome Center, for her dedication to helping families navigate our school system and connect with the resources they need.

When families have access to information they can understand, they are better equipped to support their children’s education.

We are stronger when schools, community organizations, and local partners work together to help every student start the school year ready to succeed. 💙📚

I kicked off my Saturday bright and early by joining Carlos on La Ley Radio – to talk about something that impacts every family: education.

We discussed our schools, why attendance matters, and how showing up every day opens the door to brighter opportunities for our students.

Later, Byron joined us to talk about immigration and how it affects our community in so many ways, from our schools and businesses to the families we serve every day. It was a thoughtful conversation, and I really enjoyed hearing from listeners who called in and shared their perspectives.

Local talk shows like this are so important because they give our community a voice and connect people with information that matters. We need more businesses to support local programming so these conversations can continue.

Thank you to Carlos and the Glades Media team for the invitation and for creating a space where our community can come together, ask questions, and stay informed.
