What an incredible night for our fire service family! 🚒🔥

Folks, if you needed proof that our firefighters are absolutely dedicated to keeping this community safe, look no further than last night! Our team was back at it again, sharpening life-saving skills in vehicle extraction class, and the turnout was nothing short of amazing!

West Paris Fire brought 7 members PLUS our very own Instructor Ed Pennell, making 8 strong! Woodstock Fire showed up with 8 outstanding firefighters of their own, and Casco Fire rounded us out with 2 dedicated members in class as well. Three agencies, one mission, and the teamwork between us was truly outstanding. I could not be prouder of these departments and their unwavering commitment to safeguarding our communities!

Last night we also was able to get all of our annual fit testing for our SCBA’s complete!

Let’s talk dedication: these firefighters arrived at the station at 5pm and trained until just shy of 10pm. Most didn’t eat a single bite of food until they walked back through their own front doors at 1030-11pm. That’s the kind of commitment our volunteers bring to the table every single time.

And to the families waiting at home, THANK YOU. Every hour your firefighter spends training, responding, or serving is an hour away from you, and that sacrifice does not go unnoticed. You are the backbone that makes all of this possible, and we as firefighters cannot thank you enough for your unwavering support.

I also want to give a huge shoutout to Instructor Ed Pennell. Ed has served West Paris Fire for well over a decade, is a full-time career firefighter with Casco, AND serves as a safety department representative for another company. This man is busy, yet he continues to pour his time and energy into training our teams, especially as our basic firefighter class heads into its final stretch. Ed, you are a true friend and an amazing firefighter. Thank you for everything you do!

To the incredible residents of West Paris, thank you! From all of us at the West Paris Fire Department, we are so grateful for the support you’ve shown our firefighters and our community.

Our new mini engine has officially been out on the road for a while now, and we’re thrilled to share it’s already answered over 20 calls! Watching it perform has been exciting for the whole team, it’s proven itself to be exactly the kind of reliable, capable equipment we need out there. None of this would’ve been possible without you. Thank you for helping us respond to emergencies with safe and reliable equipment!

And what a weekend it’s been, six calls in just a few days! To our firefighters who answered every single one, often stepping away from their own families to be there for ours: we see you, and we appreciate you more than words can say. This morning we had 7 of our members respond for an early morning call. I missed a few in the photo.

To our community, thank you, again and always, for standing behind this team.

Last night we had our official training from the team at Bulldog Fire. They sent up trainer Chris, and he did an awesome job covering the new truck! He showed us some tricks and procedures that will be extremely valuable for the life of the truck.

I would also like to thank everyone of our firefighters, Family and the Mason Lodge Member that helped with our Old Home Days supper that we did!!!
