South Howell County Ambulance District provides professional, 911 dispatched, advanced and basic life support services is an option.

Classes provided by SHCA for all of 2024 (Please call for more info 417-256-2490 ext:208)

SHCA has a very high quality, accredited education division. We have courses in a number of different disciplines including the following:

CAAHEP/CoAEMSP Accredited Paramedic Program
EMT Basic
NCCP Paramedic Refresher
NCCP EMT Refresher
CPR / BLS/ ACLS/ Heart Saver with and without First Aid. * AHA Training

If there is a class that you are interested in and do not see below please contact the Education Department for that class availability. Courses Available:

*EMT Class
Monday and Wednesday's 1800 to 2200
Spring class January - May
Fall class July - November
Cost is $1000.00. Payment plan is available and tuition reimbursement upon hiring, and income driven tuition assistance through Mo-Jobs is available. We are taking applications currently for the 2025 Spring EMT Class to begin in January 2025. Applications can be found in lobby or on our website.

*Paramedic Class
Tuesday and Thursday's 0800 to 1400
One class per year: January - December
Cost is $5000.00. Payment plan, tuition reimbursement upon hiring, and income driven tuition assistance through Mo-Jobs is available. EMT certification is a prerequisite to this course. We are currently taking applications for the 2025 Paramedic class to begin in January. Applications can be found in lobby or on our website. Refresher Courses:

*EMR Refresher course
-August 31st 0800 - 1200
-November 2nd 0800-1200

*EMT Refresher course
-September 6th 0800 -1600
-September 13th 0800 -1600
-September 20th 0800 -1600

*Paramedic Refresher course
-October 4th 0800 -1600
-October 11th 0800 -1600
-October 18th 0800 -1600
-October 25th 0800 -1600

CPR / BLS/ ACLS/ Heart Saver with and without First Aid.

-August 23rd 1000-1200
-September 11th 1300-1600
-October 15th 1400-1700
-December 4th 0900-1200

*Heartsaver/First Aid/ CPR/ AED
-August 30th 0900-1400

*ACLS Renewal
-September 23rd 0800 -1600
