Congratulations to Mayor Steve Tramell on receiving the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute's Certificate of Excellence during the Georgia Municipal Association's Annual Convention held in Savannah, Ga on June 28th.

The Certificate of Excellence requires 120 hours of training. This accomplishment reflects a strong commitment to excellence in public service, an investment in professional development, and demonstrates leadership that benefits the residents of West Point.

The City of West Point is now accepting applications for two new creative placemaking grant opportunities through the Georgia Council for the Arts Red Clay Creative Cohort!

We encourage residents, artists, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community groups to apply.

💡Places to Play Microgrant - Up to $500
Support for creative, community-driven projects that inspire play, connection, and engagement in parks, neighborhoods, downtown, and other public spaces.

🎨 Art on the Avenue - Up to $1,000
Funding for artist-led projects that enhance Downtown West Point through public art, creative installations, performances, and interactive experiences.

Whether you're imagining:
🎭 A pop-up art experience
🎶 A community performance
🎨 An interactive art installation
🌳 A creative neighborhood gathering
👪 A family-friendly activity
✨ Or something completely unique...

We want to hear your ideas!

Due to the potential for rain, tonight’s Mayor’s Reading Club has been moved indoors to the gymnasium.

There are currently spots available in West Point Elementary School's Pre-K program for four-year-olds. This program is designed to help children build early learning skills, including early literacy, basic math, social development, and hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for kindergarten.
