🦌 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, West Point Lake Hunting Permits Now Available

Planning to hunt on USACE-managed lands at West Point Lake this season? Permits and maps for the 2026-2027 hunting season are now available.

🏹 Annual permits are $25 and are required to hunt on approximately 10,000 acres of USACE-managed land. Be sure to review all hunting maps, permit requirements, and applicable state regulations before heading afield.

🚨 Notice for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, West Point Lake Visitors

We will be conducting a 43-acre hydrilla treatment in Potato Creek on Aug. 4-5 to help control the spread of this invasive aquatic plant.

The herbicide being used poses no danger to swimmers, boaters, or fish.

You can help stop the spread of hydrilla by inspecting and removing aquatic plants from your boat, trailer, and equipment before leaving the boat ramp.

July 31st is World Ranger Day! We're taking this time to recognize and celebrate our dedicated Park Rangers and thank them for everything they do! Tackling everything from the interpretive programs, controlled burns, and visitor assistance, to patrolling and protecting our natural resources. We thank you.

📢 Heads up, West Point Lake visitors!

Starting Aug. 1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin lowering lake levels at West Point Dam to support upcoming maintenance work.

⏬ The lake will gradually drop from 635 feet to 625 feet, with levels expected to reach 630 feet by Labor Day. Full drawdown to 625 feet should happen by Oct. 1.

⚙️ Maintenance on the spillway structure will run from Oct. 1, 2026 to Jan. 15, 2027. After that, the lake will return to normal levels as conditions allow.

Mark your calendars! On Saturday, September 26, 2026, West Point Project will host it's annual National Public Lands Day event!

This annual volunteer event is open to all members of the community who would like the opportunity to participate in several environmental stewardship projects and give back to a resource that provides so much to the community. Those who participate in this event will also have an opportunity to enjoy a free weekend of camping! Keep an eye out, we'll have more details to come!
