Important Announcement regarding the IAFF Local F-7 Annual Golf Outing

After a lot of careful consideration, IAFF Local F-7 has made the difficult decision to no longer hold our annual golf outing.

Due to recent increases in venue pricing and changes in tournament rules, we realized we would have to significantly raise ticket prices to host the event. We feel it would be unfair to ask our supporters to pay an inflated price, and the constraints would ultimately prevent us from putting on the event you all deserve.

We want to extend a massive thank you to every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer (especially Micky Lee) who has supported this fundraiser through the years. Your generosity has meant the world to our local, and we look forward to finding new ways to connect in the future.

Station 1’s crew got a welcome visitor today. IAFF General President Edward A. Kelly was in the area and stopped by to check in on the brothers.
We were able to talk and get him a department shirt and some coins, for his collection.

The officers and members of IAFF Local F-7 would like to congratulate two of our own on their promotions to Captain. Newly promoted Captains Conor Miller and Austin McCarty will be taking command of Stations 3 and 2 respectively.

Both Conor and Austin have been active members of Local F-7 for 18 years, serving multiple executive leadership positions with West Point Professional Firefighters, to include Union Local President.

Austin follows in his father, Tim McCarty’s footsteps as Captain (Retired) with the West Point Fire Department.

Please join us in wishing both Captain Miller and McCarty good luck in their new positions!!

Outstanding work Derrick Maher and congrats on being named Valadictorian of your FDNY probie class. Derrick interned with the WPFD as a high school senior in 2019 and worked as a temp firefighter from 2020-2021 before leaving for a position in FDNY EMS. From his first day as an intern Derrick showed a level of dedication that is rarely seen. Keep it up and enjoy the ride!

Today during his tour Santa received a letter from Kennedy on East Continental. Due to his busy schedule, Santa has tasked the WPFD with getting the letter back to her. If anyone knows where we can deliver the letter please private message our page.

It’s that time of year again!!!
We talked to Santa and asked that he come and visit post and do the Annual Santa Candy Cane Run along with the West Point Professional Firefighters.

Santa and his WPFD Reindeers will be making our rounds tomorrow, Saturday December 20th, starting at 9am in the Stony Lonesome Housing!!!

Since the 43 day government shutdown ended, the members of IAFF Local F-7 have received their full back pay this week. During this time we would like to express our thanks to the community and friends that have reached out to offer assistance in any way. The outreach and support that we received lessened the stress during a difficult time. The generosity shown by our community was an amazing example of how much we are appreciated.
