We are so excited to start the 22-23 school year. This is the 20th year of West Point Junior High. Below are a few things to know about tomorrow.

Since we released schedules a few weeks ago, we have had approximately 50 new students register to attend our awesome school. Because of that, we added a few more classes to the schedule. These changes may have affected your schedule. Please look at mydsd before class tomorrow to see if things changed for you.

Please be mindful as your pickup, drop off, and arrive to school. Our parking lot gets a bit crazy in the morning and as school gets out. Please be mindful of students crossing the street. Be prompt in getting into or out of your car. Also, please let the bus in or out of the lot. They are on very tight schedules to pick up and drop off at the elementaries.

We have our first volleyball game at home tomorrow as well. The game starts right after school at 3:15.

We are only a view days away from starting the 22-23 school year. Start the year off with amazing WPJH gear brought to you by the PTA. Gear can be ordered and paid for in the main office. Hoodies are $35 and T-shirts are $20. Gear orders are due August 26th.

Here is the final roster for our volleyball team. Congratulations to those that made the team.

Volleyball tryouts will be held on Monday, August 15th from 10-12:30.

First cuts will be at 11:30 and students that are cut in this round will need to be picked up by a parent.

Final team results will be posted on our website at 2:30. There will be a practice from 3 to 5 for those who make the team and a parent meeting at 5:30. Good luck to all those that try out for our Volleyball team.

Schedules are out today and can be seen on mydsd. If you have reserved a locker, you will be able to see it online as well. Lockers are not required. If you need a locker, reserve it through the main office. 7th graders can do this on Monday during Warrior Camp.

Schedules are still being adjusted and are still subject to some changes.

Heads up! Our bell schedule has changed for the upcoming school year. This change moved advisory from the end of the day to between first and second period. Advisory should be used to retake tests, work on missing work, or to talk to teachers about how to get caught up. We are excited for this change and for the upcoming school year.

Spread the word! Volleyball conditioning and tryouts are coming up soon. Tryouts are August 15th from 10-12. All those that tryout must have paperwork completed in registermyathlete.com. If you havent signed into the site in the past, you will need to create an account. Coach Barrett will have more info on the first day of conditioning.

Attention all incoming 7th graders. Mark your calendar! Warrior camp is happening on August 8th. There is a morning and afternoon session this year. Come ready to explore the building and ask questions. We are so excited to see all of you.

WRESTLING: We are looking forward to another exciting year of wrestling here at West Point. We were the district champions last year and are looking forward to a challenging and successful season this coming year.

We will be having a wrestling camp for those interested in learning the basics of wrestling and for those wanting to improve their current skills. It will be for all levels.

The camp will begin Tuesday morning August 9th at 10:00 and run until 12:00 each day through Friday the 12th. The cost is $35.00 and includes the camp and a T-shirt.

ROBOTICS: All those interested in participating in the Robotics competitive building, driving, and coding team come and join us for the introduction of the competition this year and a chance to start the building of the new robots for competition.

Each year the competition is changed to make the competition new and exciting. This year will be another challenging task to build the robot and then to compete with other schools for a chance to win the state championship and qualify for the National Robotics Competition held in Dallas Texas this year.

The camp will begin Tuesday August 9th at 1:00 and run until 3:00 each day through Friday the 12th. The cost is $35.00 and includes the camp and a T-shirt. The robots we will be building will be for the competition and learning the new contest.
