Craft Pretzel and Beer Festival tomorrow!

The Borough of West Reading will be hosting the "Craft Pretzel and Beer" festival this Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event itself runs from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. The festival will be held on Penn Ave from 5th Ave to 8th Ave, and will include the 00 blocks of both North and South 6th and 7th Avenues. Parking restrictions will be in place for the festival, and signs will be posted in the restricted areas at least 24 - 48 hours in advance. Parking restrictions will begin at 7:00 a.m., and vehicles parked in the restricted areas will be subject to ticketing and towing starting at that time.

Note to vendors and businesses: Please take note of the markings that will be placed on the street on the day of the festival. These markings will designate the maximum boundaries your booths/trucks/tents may extend to, as well as markings around fire hydrants. This is to ensure that emergency vehicles such as fire apparatus and ambulances have clearance to travel in the middle of Penn Ave if needed. If your booth or area extends into the safety lane or is too close to a hydrant, you will be instructed to move back to within your designated space. Also, please ensure you arrive and check in at the designated locations.

🐾 A BIG THANK YOU—FROM US… AND ENZO! 🐾

We’d like to send a huge thank you to Lea Kauffman and her boyfriend, Robert Wall, who stopped by our police department with lunch from Wawa to show her appreciation for our officers.

Last week, Lea’s 3‑year‑old Full Staffordshire Pit, Enzo, decided to turn a quiet neighborhood walk into a full‑blown road trip—traveling from West Reading Borough to Shillington, through Alvernia, and all the way into Cumru Township. Clearly, Enzo was feeling adventurous and logging some serious miles! 🧳🐶

Lea shared her thanks for our officers “going the extra mile” to help bring Enzo home safely—and we’re happy to report that Enzo’s vacation has officially ended. He’s back where he belongs (and hopefully grounded for a bit).

Thank you, Lea, for the thoughtful gesture and delicious lunch. We’re always glad to help—near, far, and anywhere curious dogs decide to travel next! 💙🚓

Thank you to the incredible team at West Reading Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center!

We were deeply honored when Carolyn stopped by the station today to personally present us with a thoughtful Certificate of Appreciation, recognizing the hard work and commitment of our officers. Your recognition reinforces why community partnerships like this matter so much.

Even more special were the personal thank you letters and notes from the residents themselves.

To the staff, administrators, and especially the residents of West Reading Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center: thank you for your support, your appreciation, and for being such an integral part of our community. 💙
