The following is a letter written by PCO Dr. Wei Linn and adopted by the West Richland PCO's.

We, the Precinct Committee Officers of the State of Washington’s Benton County Republican Party, call for a boycott of the MLB (Major League Baseball) after it announced a decision to financially punish people in the state of Georgia for caring about the integrity of our elections. Our boycott is on all MLB teams, including the Seattle Mariners.
MLB’s commissioner asserted that Georgia’s law requiring voter ID is racist and suppresses minority voting and thus should face the MLB’s boycott. This is wrong in many levels. First it is false to single out Georgia’s law as if it is imposing a new restrictive requirement to make it harder for people to vote, when in fact the requirements in the Georgia law are no more stringent than those in many other states, including Colorado, where the All-star game will be moved to. It is very hypocritical that MLB teams require photo ID for fans to pick up will call tickets without any concern that it may suppress minority participation in MLB games, but MLB teams state that requiring photo ID for voting in an election is suppressing minority votes. Even more hypocritical is that the MLB has had no problem doing business with the Chinese government, despite their record of ultimate voter suppression (there is no open election AT ALL) and their continued racist acts of ethnic cleansing through reeducation camps and enslavement of the Uighurs.
But what should alarm us even more is the fact that the MLB and many other big corporations are actively asserting themselves as arbiters of truth and morality in a way that would supersede the people’s will now and will very soon destroy our constitutional democracy.
That is the reason for our urgent call to oppose such efforts with financial pressure, the only voice that big corporations like MLB will respond to. And with this urgency, we call on you to boycott not only the far and away MLB, but also Washington’s own Mariners. We know, we are talking about our hometown team. We know, we are talking about a great American pastime. But boycotting them NOW is what it takes to save our ability to enjoy this and other great American traditions in the future. We know you need to hear more compelling reasons to take strong action. And here they are:
Professional sports have become an enforcer of the woke culture that is destroying America. When Colin Kaepernick began kneeling during our national anthem, Americans were asked a direct question, whether sports should remain the manifestation of the fierce, yet respectful and fair competition of skills and strength enjoyed by Americans of all political stripes, or should sports be ambassadors and enforcers of the woke culture. Unfortunately, most of the sports owners and execs chose to be the latter, while ignoring the choice of the people. Over the few years since, more and more of these big sports, big entertainment, big media and big businesses took on the roles of social justice warriors. We have seen the destructive effects through all the events that happened last year. Voices of reason have been silenced, and extreme left-wing politicians will control all levels of government. We will see increasing number of illegal immigrants, worsening border crisis, louder cry for defund the police and unending riots as have happened in Minnesota, Portland, and Chicago. We may see the return of CHAZ or CHOP.
Now, MLB decided to jump into the fray, ignoring how the NBA and NFL were rebuked by Americans in the form of the sharp decline in viewership of their games. They are showing American fans a middle finger while staking their future in revenue from China. If we remain docile over this total contempt and continue to pour in our support in money and spirit, we are doomed to be ruled by the elitists.
But do we have to boycott Mariners? Yes. The decision of the MLB has to be supported by all the team owners. If the Mariners’ owner and management care about what the woke policies do to the community they claim home, and how their fans feel, then they should oppose the MLB commissioners’ decision. But they didn’t. Therefore, they are in on the decision, explicit or implicit, and they must bear the brunt of the boycott until they come out and make the announcement.
But would that be unfair to the players and employees who work there? You might also want to consider how unfair it is now to the players and employees holding more conservative or traditional views while working in a woke organization like a major sports team. Would it be possible that all the players in a sports organization share the same political view? Of course not. The fact that we don’t hear players voicing their dissent shows how much conservative viewpoints are oppressed in such organizations. Even HOF caliber players like Curt Schilling faced tremendous pressure with the intent to silence him, and how much more so on others? Our boycott is a support for those players and employees suffering from viewpoint discrimination now, and hopefully, it will save the organization from becoming totally irredeemable for all parents with aspiring young athletes.
So, let’s put words into actions. Tell the MLB and Mariner front offices that we are boycotting MLB and the Mariners. They will be put on notice that We the people of America who care about our republic’s survival will not see our hard-earned money extend the reach of the enforcers of a progressive, destructive agenda. Instead, we will be spending more time throwing the ball with our kids, going to a high school game, or attending the local school board meetings to find out what our children are being taught. Will boycotting the hometown team make the community lose its bond and spirit? Hardly. Instead of donning our Mariner team cap, we can proudly put on ones supporting our 1st and 2nd Constitutional Amendments and return to the roots of our founding values where the true identity and spirit of the community should be.
Until MLB reverses its position and apologizes, We the people, former MLB fans and forever patriots, will NOT spend one dime on game tickets and memorabilia, and will abstain from any broadcast or streaming of MLB games. Perhaps you will survive or make money by changing your name to MLB of China, but you will cease to be the American pastime.
