Thanks to everyone who joined us this morning for our No Kings: Vote Early rally in West Roxbury. Continuing to be together in community speaking out against this federal administration is particularly important as the midterm elections approach. 🚫👑

Early voting starts today in certain parts of the city. You can also vote early next Tuesday Oct. 20 at St. Nectarios Church in Roslindale and next weekend Oct. 24-25 at the Roche Community Center in West Roxbury.

Recently, Commonwealth Beacon published a defense of the Legislature’s opaque lawmaking process and lack of productivity by the state Senate’s top lawyer. Our allies at Act on Mass submitted a response that challenges these assertions and provides data clearly showing the Legislature’s declining productivity in recent years. Some of this is a bit technical but the bottom line is that the Legislature crams many important issues into large, omnibus bills that make it hard for voters and advocates to track or know what’s going on. That is on purpose and an outlier compared to other states. It results in a lack of transparency and also productivity at a time when we really need and deserve both from our representatives and senators on Beacon Hill.
