I regret to inform you of the passing of Burt Cushing, father of longtime chair John Cushing and father in law to longtime member/secretary Ann Cushing.

Arrangements are as follows: Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Saturday, March 28th at 10:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Chrysostom Church at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private. Visiting Hours Friday, March 27th from 4:00 to 8:00pm in the Funeral Home. Just a reminder, as posted previously in the Bulletin, Ward 20 Democrats will officially hold their caucus on 2/28 at the E5 police station. Doors open at 8:30and the caucus begins at 9:15am. We hope to see you there!

Please join Ward 20 Boston for a pre-caucus meeting on Wednesday, February 4 at the E5 Police Station starting at 6:30PM. This meeting will serve to provide everyone with caucus and convention information from Mass Dems as well as a State Delegation update.

Recent events in Minneapolis have deeply disturbed many of us, with protesters being shot and killed by ICE agents. Some of you have asked what we can do in these challenging times and we encourage you to send an email to Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Ed Markey to oppose a pending funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security and to urge the impeachment of Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. Now is the time to act!

Happy New Year, Ward 20! We’re grateful for the wonderful turnout and the chance to connect with so many friends and neighbors. We were also proud to honor Bill Smith, a longtime Ward 20 member and fearless caucus leader who has kept the democratic process thriving year after year.
