"I went from hopelessness to happiness in one wave."

Meet U.S. Coast Guard Veteran Gary Jezierski. At the National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic, Gary discovered that surfing could be adapted to meet his needs and give him back a sense of control and confidence.

Instructors adjusted his board so he could sit and steer into the waves, turning uncertainty into joy. For Gary, this clinic is more than a series of activities. It is about rediscovering freedom, reclaiming strength, and reconnecting with a community that understands the journey.
