The West Rutland Town Wide Yard Sale is this Saturday from 8am to 2pm. This year, we have a lot of vendors who will be set up around the Town Hall Green with a wide variety of items, so stop by and do some shopping!!! The list below are the addresses of homeowners around town that will be having their own sales, so please stop by their sales also. Copies of this list will also be at a table on the Town Hall Green. When visiting these sales, please be mindful not to block traffic flow on streets and park on one side of the street. This will allow emergency vehicles through if needed.

Reminder - Taxes are due May 15, 2026. The Treasurer's Office is open 8 am-4 pm Monday thru Thursday, and Friday 8am-noon. On May 16, 2026, 1.5% will be applied to any unpaid tax balance, and on May 30, 2026, 8% will be added on any uppaid tax balances. For your convenience check payments may be dropped off after hours in our drop off box located near the handicap entrance of the Town Hall. Online credit card/debit card, e-Check payments can be made at the link below. There is a 2.65% fee for using your credit/debit card (charged by the credit card company) and a $1.50 fee for e-Checks.

Thank you to all the Volunteers, Scouts, Scout Leaders, Town Employees, and Townspeople who participated in this year's Green-Up day 2026 event, whether on the day or as one of the many early-bird volunteers!! Your hard work is greatly appreciated and made our beautiful town even more beautiful.

Join us at the Town Hall Green at 9am to divide and conquer.
Hot Dog Lunch served from 11am-noon.
Long pants, light colored clothing, boots, and gloves are advised.
Garbage bags are provided!!

"Appliance Pick-up" 2026
Saturday, May 2, 2026, starting at 8:00am

As part of Green-Up day, the Town of West Rutland is once again holding our Appliance, etc. pickup.

Prices are as follows:

Tires (car, truck, SUV up to 16") $6.00 each
Tires (commercial size tires over 16") $7.00 each
Stove/Dishwasher $10.00 each
Air Conditioner / Dehumidifier $25.00 each
Small Appliances (Washer/Dryer) $5.00 each
Gas Grills $5.00 each
Riding Mower = $15 each
Treadmills = $5 each
Refrigerator/Freezer $25.00 each
Mattresses $10.00 each
Push Mowers $5.00 each
Couch $10.00 each
Microwave $14.00 each
TV $5.00 each
Hot Water Heater = $10 each
Area Rugs = $5

Please pay for the items you want picked up, before May 1, 2026, at the Town Hall. The items to be picked up should be placed by the curb in front of your house by 8am, May 2. Place your receipt in a small plastic bag (in case of rain) and attach your receipt to the item(s) to be picked up. Contact the Town Hall at 802-438-2263 for more information.

VINS Presentation
The West Rutland Recreation Department in collaboration with the West Rutland Free Library is hosting a Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) Presentation on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 9:30am in the West Rutland Town Hall Auditorium, 35 Marble St., West Rutland. Admission is free and open to West Rutland Town Residents only.
