The Long Island History Hunt returns May 23 thru September 30, 2026!
In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, this year’s Hunt invites visitors to explore 26 museums, landmarks, and historic sites across Long Island, from Brooklyn to Montauk, through a fun, family-friendly selfie challenge.

Suffolk County Parks is proud to share that Sagtikos Manor County Park will be one of this year’s participating locations! Visitors can stop by the historic manor, complete the site challenge, and discover Sagtikos Manor’s deep connections to Long Island’s Revolutionary-era history.

The more sites you visit, and challenges you complete, the more prize opportunities you can earn, including eligibility for special prize drawings.

Are you ready to explore Long Island history? For more information visit LIHistoryHunt.com or contact [email protected]

In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, Suffolk County is launching Planting It Forward to 2276 — a Living Legacy Tree Registry that allows residents to plant a tree and create a lasting tribute for future generations.

Beginning today, Red Oak seedlings will be distributed at select Suffolk County Parks between April 24–30, while supplies last.

Learn more and register your tree at www.suffolk250.org or contact Suffolk 311 at 631-853-6311.
