Due to the predicted rain and winds hitting our area, all Long Island Live Steamers events for this weekend have been canceled. The next public run day is October 11, 2026.

In preparation for the storm, we will be closing and modifying some campground and park locations.

Outer Beaches- All outer beaches have been closed. Staff will evaluate the conditions on Sunday and reopen when it's safe to do so.

Tent Camping- All tent camping has been suspended through Sunday at all campgrounds.

Beach Camping- Cupsogue, Montauk, and Shinnecock East will be closed through the weekend and are all being evacuated starting today. No weekend camping will be allowed.

Campfires- All campfires are prohibited through Sunday. Enclosed propane cooking appliances may still be used

9/24/2026- Due to the high tides, the outer beach at Smith Point has been closed until further notice. Park staff will evaluate beach conditions after the storm passes this weekend.

Please be advised that with the potential for this weekend’s nor’easter there may be impacts to some of Suffolk County’s campgrounds and parks. We will be posting updates on our social media pages and emailing impacted residents as more information becomes available in the coming days.
