Donations to our Community Food Drive continue to come in, but it's been a little slow to date. The drive for nonperishable food products and personal care items will continue through January. Bring a donation of six or more items, or $20, to our office and receive a free pair of eclipse glasses for the big eclipse event in April while supplies last. Secondary drop-off locations include Western New York Federal Credit Union on Union Road and GEICO Local Office West Seneca in the Southgate Plaza. Please note that the eclipse glasses are only available at the Chamber office. Thank you for supporting our local food pantries!

Our annual Community Food Drive, which we hold every January, is already seeing a few items come in. Through January 31 we'll be collecting nonperishable food products, personal care items and cash/check donations for our local food pantries. Stop by the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce office with a donation during December and you'll receive a free pair of eclipse glasses for the big eclipse event in April, and a light-up pen while supplies last. Please note that our office is typically open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, and that we will be closed Dec. 25 & 26.

In January, drop-off sites will expand to include Western New York Federal Credit Union on Union Road and GEICO Local Office West Seneca located in the Southgate Plaza.

Our final award announcement was made this afternoon at Spectrum Health & Human Services, recipient of the Chamber's Community Service Organization of the Year Award!

Founded in 1973 to provide behavioral health and substance abuse counseling, Spectrum Health & Human Services staffs a busy office in West Seneca, hosts the annual Not One More: Stand Together to End Overdose event in Veterans Park, offers monthly outreach visits in the West Seneca Community Center & Library, and much more.

The organization is committed to serving the West Seneca community and contributing to the town’s growth, health and vibrancy, and we look forward to honoring their staff at Kloc's Grove on Feb. 15!

It is an honor to announce that Jennifer McAndrew, executive director of Plymouth Crossroads, has been named the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year!

A nonprofit organization, Plymouth Crossroads offers residential supports for runaway and homeless males ages 16 to 20 in an atmosphere supporting dignity, respect and self-sufficiency.

A proud resident of our town for more than two decades, Jennifer will be honored at the Chamber's 77th annual Community Awards Dinner Feb. 15 at Klocs Grove. Congratulations, Jennifer!

The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that our 2024 Gerald Hathaway Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award will be presented on Feb. 15 to Andrew Frelock, a senior at West Seneca West High School! A member of the Business & Finance Academy, Andrew served as a summer intern for the Chamber, assisting vendors and customers at the weekly West Seneca Farmers' Market, and also worked as a volunteer at our annual Golf Tournament.

An avid fisherman, Andrew is also an entrepreneur who enjoys making handcrafted fishing lures in his spare time. He had an opportunity to test those entrepreneurial skills when he was invited to display and sell his lures for one week at the farmers' market and again at the town's holiday marketplace. He will enter college in the fall.

Congratulations, Andrew, on this incredible accomplishment!

This morning we are pleased to announce Rosalia Carraba as our Educator of the Year Award recipient! An employee of the West Seneca Central School District since 2001, Rosalia is a librarian at West Seneca East Middle School and is extremely proud of her involvement in the Reading Rover, a unique program that brings books into the West Seneca community.

We look forward to honoring Rosalia and our other Community Award winners at Kloc's Grove on Feb. 15!

Beyond Print Solutions seeks full-time bookkeeper

Beyond Print Solutions, located at 80 W. Drullard Ave., Suite 100, in Lancaster, is currently seeking a bookkeeper to join its team. This is a first shift, full-time position with a rate of pay of $17 to $21 per hour based on experience.

The bookkeeper will oversee the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The bookkeeper will also perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.

Other responsibilities include:
• Documenting financial transaction details and monitoring the transactions
• Preparing and filing financial documents
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Fact-checking accounting data
• Reconciling company accounts
• Processing payroll and tracking payroll data
• Assisting with tax payments and returns
• Working with staff accountants as needed

Previous accounting/bookkeeping experience is required; related college degree preferred.

West Seneca Chamber of Commerce Community Award announcement #2 …

Western New York Federal Credit Union loves West Seneca, and it’s pretty obvious. Not only did they expand their Union Road location in 2023, but they are always supporting local events and organizations, including the nonprofit West Seneca Chamber of Commerce.

WNYFCU sponsors all of the Chamber’s major events and activities, including our Community Food Drives, Community Awards Dinner, Women In Business Breakfast, Golf Tournament, Community Guide, BurchFest and Christmas Tree & Art Auction, and they were the first to step up to sponsor our 2024 Eclipse event that will take place in April. They are also a long-time sponsor the West Seneca Farmers’ Market, which has become an incubator for local businesses and a favorite among shoppers and vendors.
