A big shoutout and thank you to Joe Rock from Stryker for coming out last night to provide an informational session and hands on demonstration of our new Lifepak 35 monitor.
This new monitor will assist our providers in performing more in-depth patient evaluations and delivering enhanced patient care in the field. Tonightโs training was the first of many sessions that will take place before the device is officially placed into service on our ambulance.
A second LUCAS device was also purchased and unboxed this evening. The LUCAS is a portable mechanical chest compression system that delivers continuous, guideline-consistent CPR automatically, helping to prevent rescuer fatigue while allowing providers to focus on other critical life-saving interventions during cardiac arrest calls. Vigilant has had great success with the current LUCAS device already in service, and with the increasing number of double-banger calls, it was felt that investing in a second unit for our second out truck was an important step forward. Having this additional device available ensures our crews are equipped with the tools needed to continue providing high-quality patient care during multiple simultaneous emergencies.
Combined with our new Lifepak 35 monitor, these advancements continue to strengthen the level of emergency medical care we are able to provide to our community.
