🚧 Main Street Corridor Improvements – 2026 Project Update 🚧
The Town of West Springfield is moving forward with the Main Street Corridor Safety Improvements project from Park Avenue to New Bridge Street. This work will run from June through November 2026 and is focused on making Main Street safer and more accessible for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and schoolchildren.
Over the coming months, work will include:
Underground utility work and drainage and water system upgrades
New granite curbing, sidewalks, and accessible curb ramps
Road reconstruction, pavement reclamation, and milling
Raised crosswalks and full roadway resurfacing
New pedestrian traffic signals, lighting, and flashing school zone signs
Fresh pavement markings, new warning and route signs, and lawn restoration
During construction, you can expect lane shifts, temporary detours, and changes to on-street parking at different times along the corridor. We appreciate your patience and urge everyone to slow down and use extra caution in the work zone.
