As we celebrate Labor Day across West Terre Haute and Sugar Creek Township, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible spirit of hard work and dedication that defines our community. Labor Day is a time to relax, fire up the grill, and spend well-deserved time with family and friends. But while many take a break today, the dedicated career and volunteer personnel of the Sugar Creek Fire Department remain on duty, working around the clock to ensure your safety. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our firefighters and EMT’s who are missing holiday celebrations with their own families today to protect yours. Their commitment to providing professional, rapid emergency response never rests.

Visible Addresses: If you have friends or family visiting, please ensure your house numbers are clearly visible from the street. In an emergency, every second counts!

Grilling Safety: Keep grills away from siding, deck railings and out from under eaves or overhanging branches.

Drive Responsibly: With more traffic on the road, please drive carefully, avoid distractions and always yield to emergency vehicles.
