Wilming A small but charming town, known for its heron recipes and flavorful history.

The town of Wilming is gently nestled smack dab on the state line between Illinois and Indiana. Wilming is home to Heronfest held annually on our county fairgrounds, but our town is also famous for being steeped in many urban legends and supernatural tales. Our lovely town was founded by the late Hans Wilming: German explorer and connoisseur of boiled giblets. He came to this area in 1814 looking

for the North Lake Brooding Heron, world-renowned for its rich and flavourful giblets. Wilming spent 3 weeks in a moldy tent outside of what he thought was the bird's nesting burrow; however upon further examination it turned out to be a bear carcass. He gave up his gibletquest, but decided to found a town based on his unquenchable thirst for heron.
